Anderson Mayor's Cup Race
The 21st running of the Anderson Mayor's cup is scheduled for May 2nd & 3rd, 2015. This prestigious event in the streets of downtown Anderson, Indiana is a welcome challenge for the start of the 2015 Southern Indiana Racing Association and promoted by the Anderson Indiana Sertoma Club. Sertoma is the sponsoring organization, and the race director is Terry Riggins. Utilizing the streets surrounding the Work Force One building, between east 9th and 10th Streets, the course uses more than the city block surrounding the facility. The Pit area is uses the adjacent Work Force One parking lot, and is accessed from Indian Trails Parkway, and Wheeler Avenue.
This is a two day event, with pit access available after 5:00 p.m. Friday. Saturday will include practice, opening ceremonies and sponsor races, followed by heat races by class. The days racing will conclude with two special races for the benefit of the Operation Love Food Pantry, with a money payout based on total numbers of entries for each event. Starting positions for these two races will be determined by the amount of canned food each entrant donates. Sunday, track activity will begin at noon, with a round of practice, and followed by our feature races by class.
Trish Simpson will be registering for membership, for those who still need to join or renew with SIRA, and the Sertoma folks will be handling race registration. PLEASE USE THE ANDERSON SERTOMA ENTRY FORM FROM THE "NEXT RACE ENTRY" TAB ON THE SIRA WEBSITE. Hope to see everyone at our season opener, and bring your friends and family too!
